Hot-gas welding

Joints of molded parts to be welded are convection-heated by hot exhaust gas, then welded under pressure.

Your benefits

  • Alternative, particle-free welding process for high-performance plastics
  • Use of a primary energy source: efficient, economical and sustainable
  • Discrete heating and joining, with the following phases: non-contact heating / changeover / joining and cooling
  • Free of particles / impermeability / burst pressure / critical weld zone designs / spatially complex geometries
  • Low oxygen content in the exhaust gas, significantly less thermal-oxidative damage to the plastic
  • Individual adaptation to component requirements, thanks to finely adjustable zone and nozzle concept
  • Burner design also enables heating of weld zones that are difficult to access

Applications: automotive industry / home appliance and white goods industry / sanitation and installation technology / electrical engineering / electronics

  • Modularly designed standard series for various part sizes, welding forces, footprints and other features
  • Customized special equipment, including tool change concepts, automated production lines and clocked equipment for maximum output
  • Hot-gas welding can be subsequently integrated in existing, servomotor-driven welding machines
